What we value
Saki-aji
A place where Hondaya and its customers meet, in harmony with the changing of the seasons.
Naka-aji
A taste of elegant simplicity that reflects the scenery of Yamaguchi.
Ato-aji
The aftertaste is enhanced thanks to a rich saki-aji and naka-aji. We hope that people and nature interconnect, enriching life, and that the landscape created by confectionery and people has an enjoyable aftertaste.
Uiro
Hondaya's uiro is an iconic confectionery that conveys the culture of Yamaguchi. It is characterized by its unique smoothness with a pasty texture.
All seasons: Koshi-an (strained bean paste), Mame-uiro (azuki bean paste), Matcha (powdered green tea)
Seasonal: Sakura (cherry blossom), Natsu-mikan (summer tangerine), Kuri (chestnuts), Kokuto (brown sugar)
Warabi-mochi(bracken-starch mochi)
Carefully kneaded by craftsmen, making use of characteristics of bracken flour with a hint of green tea. Enjoy it with soybean flour and brown sugar syrup as desired.
Mikasa-yaki
Homemade sweet bean paste is sandwiched in fluffy baked dough made from eggs and flour.
Castella
Sponge cake baked by skilled craftsmen using traditional methods. Enjoy the fluffy texture and gentle flavor.
Tsuto-mochi
